Card Overview
Live crypto Mastercard in 2026, but read the status line first: physical card ordering has been paused since January 2025, so today you can only activate the virtual version, which needs as little as $50 in your Nexo account. It is custodial. Funds sit in your Nexo balance, and the card either spends them directly (Debit Mode) or borrows against your crypto collateral (Credit Mode), toggled with one tap on the same Mastercard. That toggle is the real selling point. No monthly, annual, or inactivity fees, and both virtual activation and physical shipping cost nothing. FX runs 0.2% weekday and 0.7% weekend inside the EEA/UK/CH, then jumps to 2% weekday and 2.5% weekend everywhere else, with monthly free-FX allowances at higher Loyalty tiers. Cashback is where the catch bites. You need a $5,000 portfolio just to join the Loyalty Program, rewards accrue only on Credit Mode spend, and the headline 2% demands Platinum tier: 10% of your portfolio held in Nexo's own NEXO token. Base tier pays 0.5% NEXO / 0.1% BTC. UK holders earn no cashback at all under FCA rules, and the card is EEA plus UK only, never the US.
Best fit: existing Nexo borrowers in the EEA with $5,000-plus who want to spend against collateral without selling. Wrong card if you are in the US, in the UK chasing cashback, under $5k, or need a physical card in hand today.
Nexo Card delivers unprecedented flexibility as the world's first crypto-backed card with dual Credit and Debit modes that you can switch between instantly. In Credit Mode, borrow against your crypto collateral earning up to 2% cashback in NEXO tokens or 0.5% in Bitcoin based on your loyalty tier, while your assets continue earning up to ~13% APY. Perfect for European crypto holders who want spending power without selling, Nexo Card combines automated repayments, instant switching between 40+ cryptocurrencies, and Mastercard's global acceptance, making your digital wealth work harder while you spend smarter.
This is a Mastercard crypto card. It offers cashback rewards. Available in Europe. Available in the UK.
