The yield card pitch — "earn while you spend" — is real on a small subset of products and marketing on the rest. The 58 cards below either pay measurable APY on idle balances (Nexo, Wirex, Crypto.com on certain tiers) or, in the more interesting case, let you borrow against collateral that keeps earning underneath (Ether.fi Cash and a handful of DeFi-native peers). Those two mechanisms behave very differently in practice. Custodial yield evaporates when the issuer adjusts rates or hits a liquidity squeeze — Celsius and BlockFi both ran 8% APY products before they didn't. DeFi-collateral yield depends on the protocol underneath staying solvent and the loan-to-value buffer surviving a market drawdown. Neither is free money. The reasonable question to ask of every card on this list isn't "what's the APY," it's "who carries the risk, and what happens if the rate drops to zero next quarter." If the answer is "you do, and you stop earning," that's at least transparent.
