Card overview
This is Wayex's Australian card, separate from the Wayex Global card in legal entity, issuer and currency. It is a prepaid Visa issued by Flexewallet Pty Ltd and run by CryptoSpend Pty Ltd, trading as Wayex, which holds its own Australian financial services licence. It spends an AUD balance or converts any of 137 listed crypto assets to AUD at the till. There is no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee; crypto-funded spending pays the account's volume tier rate, 0.40% at the start and 0% above AUD 1,000,000 of 30-day volume, and that rate applies at home as well as abroad. AUD moves in and out free over PayID, NPP and BSB, and the digital card works with Apple Pay and Google Pay. The product disclosure statement still in use is dated October 2023: it caps the card balance at AUD 10,000, prices the physical card at AUD 15, and gives two different daily ATM limits.
- Best fit
- Australians who hold crypto and want to spend it in AUD without an FX fee abroad
- Wrong card if
- you want rewards or yield, or need to hold more than AUD 10,000 on the card
