Card Overview
Almost every card in this list claims self-custody. Altitude is one of the few that says what the words mean: the workspace is a Squads Protocol multisig on Solana, each user account a 2-of-4, the workspace a multisig of those accounts, and money moves only when your own signers approve it. That is a mechanism you can check, not an adjective. The card on top is a virtual Visa Signature Corporate charge card, spending USDC straight from a dedicated card account with no credit line, no interest and no credit check. Costs are unusually clean for this category: nothing to open, nothing monthly, nothing to issue, no minimum deposit, free ACH and wire and SEPA, and a flat 1% only when you buy in something other than dollars. Outbound SWIFT is the one real charge at $35. Two headline numbers need reading twice. Cashback of 1%, or 1.5% on AI tools and business software, or 2% on travel, is uncapped and lands monthly in USDC, but it is a promotion Squads funds itself, explicitly not sponsored by the issuing bank, and its terms let Squads rewrite the rates or void points you already earned. The advertised 3.25% is not on the money the card spends: it lives in a separate Earn balance with a $10,000 floor, needs an approval proposal to move either way, and is switched off outright for businesses in the EEA, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore and Turkey. Altitude even argues with itself here, since disclaimer 6 on its own card page calls the account not interest-bearing and not yield-generating. Deposits take only USDC or EURC, and anything else is gone for good. No Altitude page names the bank behind the card.
Best fit: a verified business that already holds stablecoins, wants team cards with per-card limits and receipt matching, and values controlling the keys over the extra points. Wrong card for individuals, who cannot open an account at all, and for anyone who needs plastic or an ATM, because neither exists.
Altitude is a business account built on stablecoins, and the Altitude Card is its spend layer: a virtual Visa Signature Corporate charge card that draws directly from a USDC card account with no credit line, no interest and no credit check. Cashback runs 1% on everything, 1.5% on AI tools and business software and 2% on travel, uncapped and paid monthly in USDC. The workspace itself is a Squads Protocol multisig on Solana, so funds move only when your own signers approve. Accounts come with a US routing number and a SEPA IBAN, free ACH, wire and SEPA, and a separate Earn balance paying 3.25% APY on short-term US Treasuries. Available to verified businesses in 150+ countries, including the United States outside New York.
This is a Visa crypto card. It uses a self-custody model. It offers cashback rewards. Available to US residents. Available in Europe.
Fees & Limits
| Issuance Fee | Free — "No membership, monthly or issuance fees, and no minimum deposit" |
|---|---|
| Annual Fee | Free |
| FX Fee | Flat 1% on purchases in any currency other than USD, described as passed through from the card-issuing partner; 0% on USD purchases. The FX fee itself earns no cashback |
| ATM Limit | No ATM access — virtual-only charge card, and ATM withdrawal appears in none of the 42 help-centre articles (checked 2026-07-30) |
| Spending Limit | Not set by day: an admin picks one frequency per card from per-authorisation, rolling 7-day, rolling 30-day or all-time, and can change it at any time. Rolling windows free up spend as older transactions age out. No merchant or category restriction at card level, though platform-wide prohibitions still apply |
These figures can change. Confirm the current fees, FX and network in Altitude’s official terms before you apply.
Features
- Card Type: Virtual only — help centre states "Altitude Card is virtual only. There is no physical card"; the marketing site's "ship physical cards to your team" line describes the wider platform, not this card
- Top up with: USDC moved in from another account in the same workspace, proposed and then approved through the workspace approval flow; cardholders cannot top up their own card
- Available Countries: 150+ countries; United States supported excluding New York
Banking & Fiat Rails
SEPA: Yes — every EUR account carries its own SEPA IBAN and inbound SEPA settles as EURC; USD accounts carry a dedicated US routing number and settle as USDC. Virtual accounts and conversions run on Bridge (a Stripe company). SWIFT: Yes, $35 per outbound transfer, configured as OUR so the recipient gets the full amount. ACH, ACH Same Day, domestic wire and SEPA are free — "Altitude sponsors all ACH, wire and SEPA fees"
Supported Cryptocurrencies
You can load the Altitude Card with crypto; the asset we track for it is listed below. When you pay, the card converts crypto to local fiat automatically.
Networks & deposit details: USDC on Solana, Ethereum, Base, Avalanche C-Chain and Tempo; EURC on Solana only. Balances are held on Solana and non-Solana deposits are bridged 1:1 with no fee by Bridge, with Solana instant and the other networks up to 15 minutes. Nothing else is creditable: USDT, DAI, USDP, USDG, PYUSD and FDUSD sent to an Altitude address cannot be recovered, and neither can the right asset on the wrong network. Holdings can also carry SOL and Bitcoin (cbBTC) outside the card account
