Card Overview
Wealthsimple's prepaid Cash Mastercard is the everyday-spending arm of Canada's largest direct-to-consumer fintech. On October 1, 2025 it lost the 1% unlimited cashback that built its reputation; that's the fact that decides everything else. In exchange, the prepaid Cash card now reimburses ATM fees with no per-transaction cap (the older $5 cap went at the same time). If cashback was why you signed up, the Wealthsimple Credit Visa Infinite at 2% is the relevant product now, and it carries a CAD $120/year fee plus income or asset requirements. The prepaid Cash card itself stays free with 0% FX (Wealthsimple absorbs the markup), Apple Pay and Google Pay both work, ATM withdrawal cap is CAD 1,000/day, and the cash account earns ambient interest on idle balances. Funding routes through Interac e-Transfer, direct deposit, or selling crypto inside the Wealthsimple app to CAD first (there is no direct on-chain top-up of the card). Canada only. No IBAN, no SEPA; SWIFT/BIC is WSIMCAT2 for wires. I'd only recommend the prepaid Cash card to Canadians who'll actually value 0% FX travel spend and unlimited ATM reimbursement enough to make up for the cashback that quietly disappeared in October 2025.
Wealthsimple Card is a prepaid Mastercard from Canada's largest online investment platform, with 0% FX fees and unlimited ATM-fee reimbursement. The 1% cashback ended on 1 October 2025. Connected to your Wealthsimple investing, crypto, and savings accounts. Free issuance with Interac e-Transfer and direct deposit support.
